1939 Rare John F. Kennedy Princeton University Yearbook
Rare 1939 edition of the Princeton Nassau Herald which documents John F. Kennedy’s brief stay at Princeton before leaving for reported health reasons and then enrolling at Harvard. Kennedy does not even appear in the main bio pages of the yearbook, but instead appears in the section marked “Complete information was not received from the following men: Why he still appears at all in the yearbook is a bit of a mystery. In fact, this is the only one of these yearbooks we have ever had in our collection or inventory. It is especially odd since Kennedy enrolled at Princeton in 1935 and left soon thereafter so why he remained in the yearbook at all, years later is unknown. Features a great photo of the young Kennedy.
Kennedy entered Princeton in 1935 as a member of the class of 1939. Kennedy’s father wanted him to go to Harvard University, and eventually his father got his wish when JFK transferred to Harvard. . He left Princeton in December due to a gastrointestinal illness that put him in the hospital.
